I was out on Saturday night...introducing myself to some lovely Ladies who run a new establishment in the Palisade..(not sure about the pictures..a bit saucy)..when I saw something was afoot.

There was this weird lady with tentacles for a mouth!

I took her photo, screamed and ran! I know, I know, "not what a proper urchin would do" I hear you shout! So I tracked her down as she wandered around Babbage. Mr Skusting Dagger was out with a lady friend admiring a motor car and I asked him for some protection but it seems she was too much even for him.

He tried staring the monster down but after proclaiming us "Doomed!" she zapped him with some sort of monster mind ray and he went over for a second.

Thankfully Mr Skusting seemed to shake it off and is quite alright now thank you very much. Still, scary business!

Anyway’s the monster disappeared into the depths of the Vernian Sea so I followed it as best I could but lost it somewhere round Shay's place!

All I can say is I hope they get that wall finished and stocked with these clockwork soldiers we keep hearing so much about. The city just aint safe for us urchins no more!

Still, it weren’t all bad. I did manage to

meet a talking horse with the same

name as me!
